Our Photography

Photography is central to how we bring Autumn Teneyl to life—it’s not just documentation, but storytelling, and an essential extension of the clothing itself. From the very beginning, we knew traditional studio images couldn’t capture the movement, texture, and real-world spirit of the designs. These pieces are meant to move, to breathe, and to be lived in, which led us to choose a more natural, on-location approach that evolves right alongside the clothing.

Autumn is both the designer and the model, allowing each piece to be photographed in real time as new fabrics and designs come to life. Because she sources designer-end textiles herself and works in small batches, the collection is always evolving—and our photography must stay just as fluid. What you see on the website reflects what’s being created now, not months in advance.

Over time, we stepped away from traditional, highly structured photo shoots in favor of a simpler, more honest process. Today, our images are captured in natural light and real landscapes—from Colorado to the coast—often during golden hour at sunrise or sunset. With a camera, a bag of clothes, and the surrounding environment as our backdrop, Autumn styles and models her designs on location while I photograph them as they naturally unfold. It’s a demanding process at times, but one that keeps our small-batch, sustainability-driven brand authentic, current, and deeply connected to the art behind every piece.
